About the Author
I am a hiker. I am a climber. I am a dog mom, a soccer fan, and a wanna-be gymnast. I am creative and loyal and proud and joyful. Sometimes I'm loud, but usually I’m a listener. I love the feeling of going against the grain. I love the feeling of the wind in my hair and sand on my feet. I am a fighter, a planner, and a seeker. And now I’m an author.
I, like you, am many identities wrapped up together in an unperfect package. And I’m learning how enjoying that reality is so much more rewarding than constantly trying to perfect myself.
I am a recovering perfectionist, and I am on my journey of acceptance of unperfection. And I hope you will join me for the ride.
Life doesn’t have to be characterized by anxiety, stress, worry, or depression. But so often it is. So often, we find ourselves caught up in this vicious cycle, unable to see any way out. But we can get out. And it starts with unperfection.
This book is part story-telling about my own journey and part self-application for the reader. This isn’t a cookie-cutter, step-by-step, or how-to guide, but rather an experiential recap. Ultimately, this book is a challenge for those who want more from life than the negative results that perfectionism serves us all.
“I can’t give you a surefire formula for success, but I can give you a formula for failure: try to please everybody all the time.”
